A Heurística da disponibilidade é um enviesamento cognitivo em que o decisor se baseia em conhecimento mais facilmente disponível ou recordado, em vez de examinar todas as alternativas.
Existem situações em que as pessoas determinam a frequência de um dado evento, ou a probabilidade de ele ocorrer, pela facilidade com que se conseguem lembrar de instâncias desse evento. Neste caso, é também mais fácil de recordar informação recentemente adquirida. Por exemplo, acções com grande cobertura mediática são mais facilmente adquiridas pelas massas, o que leva a que tenham um enviesamento para uma performance pior que o mercado nos dois anos seguintes.
